Principal
I love being the Principal of Roberts McCubbin Primary School. We have such an inclusive, diverse community of wonderful, supportive families. With Mr Roche, being able to lead such a talented staff is also a daily privilege. Outside of school I love to go camping with family and friends!

Stephen Roche
Assistant Principal
As Assistant Principal of Robbie Mac, I find it extremely fulfilling to be able to positively impact the community around me. I am passionate about creating a learning environments that are relevant to real life situations, supporting learning to meaningful and enjoyable for all students.
I believe that student wellbeing should be at the forefront of every educational decision. It’s crucial for students to feel safe, comfortable, and be able to express themselves freely in order to build their knowledge and confidence. When students are happy and content, they are more likely to learn, grow, and achieve to their fullest potential. I am privileged to work with Mr Watson and lead our school.

Teaching at Robbie Mac is such a joy because every day brings something new with the students. After years in 5/6, it is exciting to now be with the little ones in Foundation. I love how they bring fresh energy and excitement into the classroom, and it’s amazing to witness their growth as they discover the world around them. It’s so rewarding to now guide them through these early, formative steps in their education and see their faces light up when they master something new!

This is my first year at Roberts McCubbin, and I’m thrilled to be joining the Robbie Mac family as a foundation teacher. I love being able to spark curiosity in little learners and am excited to watch them grow as individuals throughout the year. Looking forward to a year full of learning and fun!

Melinda Browne
Grade 2 Classroom Teacher
Students “buy-in” to STEM because it’s authentic, hands-on and collaborative. The level of immersive engagement, ingenuity, creativity and complex problem solving I’ve seen students engage in, is so inspiring. Outside of school you will find me teaching adults, in pump, spin and barre classes and sharing my passion for fitness.

This is my first year teaching at Roberts McCubbin, I am excited to be a part of the
junior school as a year 1 teacher. I value student wellbeing, respect and creativity in
the classroom. I look forward to watching my students’ grow, and I am excited to be

Hi, my name is Cheryl Ryan. I have been working at Roberts McCubbin PS for a number of years. I enjoy working with all the students and making their learning journey a positive and fun filled one. I love going to the beach, camping, reading, and trying to play tennis.

This is my 7th year of working at Robbie Mac. I love working here because all of the staff, students and families are so welcoming and inclusive. I enjoy working with the year 2 students because they ask lots of great questions and are lots of fun to be around.

I have taught at Roberts McCubbin since 2008 and I love working with the great kids we have here. I have 3 children (all Robbie Mac students) and a very cute cavoodle. In my spare time I like to go camping with friends and family, reading and watching movies.

Kate Pickburn

Roberts McCubbin is such a positive and inclusive environment to teach within. I love teaching Year 3 as it is wonderful to see the students develop their independence and watch the children develop and flourish throughout the year. In my spare time I love going on beach holidays with my own children, watching movies and reading.

Anne Seymour
Grade 4 Classroom Teacher
Hi, my name’s Anne Seymour and I am currently teaching a Year 4 class. What makes our school special are the students who are a pleasure to teach. I really believe in our whole school values and see these reflected in the attitudes and behaviour of the students. I also enjoy teaching and collaborating with the dedicated and vibrant teaching staff here. On the weekend, I love watching my boy’s playing basketball.

Cameron Batt

I love working within such an inclusive and positive environment. The Year 5 students enjoy learning all aspects of the curriculum and I take great pride and joy watching the many lightbulb moments we have in the classroom. I am especially passionate about student engagement in Numeracy and challenging students at their required learning level. Outside of work, I love spending time with my young family and watching the mighty Saints play in the footy.

Natasha Robb

Hello, my name is Natasha Robb and I am one of the year 5 teachers at RMPS! I love working at our school, mainly because I get to spend every day with such fun, hardworking teachers, supportive families and incredible students. I am such a lucky teacher and am grateful that I get to help students grow and reach their potential! When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my dog and family, crafting and being at the beach.

Margie Strickland

Hello, I am Margie Strickland and I am one of the Grade 5 teachers. I feel lucky to be a teacher at Robbie Mac where I collaborate with a fantastic team of teachers and teach and learn with the wonderful students at our school. We strive to be an inclusive learning environment where students can learn emotional, social, academic and physical skills at their own pace. Outside of the classroom I like to spend time with my family, go for walks and cook!

Hi! My name is Micah Gonzalez, and I am a year 5 teacher. I have the amazing privilege of collaborating with outstanding staff, students, and parents, as we continue to create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential. Being a part of this community fills me with gratitude every day. Beyond the classroom, I like going to the gym, indulging in a good book, and cherishing moments with loved ones.

Kelly Vimpani
LOTE & Tutor Learning Program
I love my job because I get to do what I am passionate about every day-help kids learn languages! Outside of school I enjoy cooking for friends, caravanning and watching my kids play sport.

Katrina Cassidy
Art/ Counsellor
I love the school community, especially working with the students creating art. I am also enjoying my role as a counsellor doing art therapy. I enjoy learning new things especially about other cultures and introducing them to students. I love travelling, skiing and doing anything creative.

Emily Choo

I am looking forward to being a part of the Robbie Mac school community and getting to know the students, staff and families. As a STEAM teacher, I enjoy fostering curiosity and creativity through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. I take great pride in seeing students develop their problem-solving skills and confidence when tackling rich, open-ended challenges. I am especially passionate about Science and helping students deepen their understanding of the world around them. Outside of school, I enjoy playing the piano, guitar and ukulele, travelling to and exploring new places, trying different foods and cheering on the mighty Bombers in the footy!

Lena Zappia
Performing Arts Teacher
Hello, I’m Lena Zappia and I’m teaching Performing Arts this year. I clearly enjoy being a part of the Robbie Mac community, as I have been teaching here, in various roles, since 1998! Yes, that makes me an older member of staff, but it definitely doesn’t affect my great enthusiasm for teaching and learning!
I enjoy the arts, especially singing, dancing and musical theatre, as well as spending time outdoors, especially at the beach, and adventuring with friends and family.
